About Tree Tops Trail

Tree Tops trail is situated in a beautiful wooded valley located within Heatherton Activity Park on the outskirts of Tenby in Pembrokeshire.

Heatherton opened its doors in 1992 providing archery, pistol shooting and golf. Over the years the park has developed dramatically and now offers a wide range of activities.

The addition of the Tree Tops Trail is part of an ongoing development to provide participative activities for all ages rather than just theme park rides.

Frequently asked questions.

What should I Wear?

You should wear suitable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions that you do not mind getting damaged. Open toed or slip off shoes are unsuitable, firmly attached footwear (ideally with some ankle support) must be worn during participation of the Tree Tops Trail. Long hair must be tied back and, for comfort, your waist covered (with any piercing removed or taped over). Please also ensure that any jewellery is removed so that it does not get damaged or caught at any point during the course. You will be provided with the necessary safety equipment to participate in all activities on the Tree Tops Trail.

Do we need to book in advance?

It is not required for you to book in advance, however to ensure that you can participate in the course on the day and time that you desire it is advisable that you book - either online or over the phone for larger groups

Can I take a camera on with me?

You are allowed to take a camera on the courses with you, however they must be attached to you so that they are unable to fall and that they will not be in the way whilst you are moving around the course.

Will there be an accompanying instructor on the course with us?

There will not be an instructor on the course with you. You will be trained to use the safety system by an instructor prior to going on the course so that you are confident in the way in which you are to move around the course. An instructor will be patrolling the course so that if you feel that you or any participant is in need of assistance do not hesitate to contact them.

Can my Under 18 year old go on the course on their own?

For the Junior Tree Tops Trail (up to 16 yrs) they are able to go onto the course without a participating adult, but a parent or guardian over the age of 21 must supervise them from ground level (one adult may supervise a maximum of five children). Due the nature and height of the adult course they cannot go on the course on their own and therefore must have a participating adult over the age of 21 with them (one participating adult may supervise either a maximum of two children where one or both is under 16 years old or up to five 16-17 year olds). We do offer instructor lead sessions on the adult course if you are unable to provide a participating adult.

What weather conditions does it run in?

The Tree Tops Trail is able to run in most weather conditions including heavy rain. It may be necessary during strong winds, lightning or exceptionally cold weather to close the trail, in which case Heatherton Sports Park will reasonably endeavour to re-accommodate your group by re-booking a different time slot or offer one of the many activities Heatherton can provide in these conditions.
